The season kicked off with the first annual Spring-Fling windsurfing race at the west island of the Stuart causeway.
Running four heats with an average of 15 sailors per heat, the race was a success and inspired long-time sailors to “up their game.”
Stuart Causeway has been a favorite for local sailors for years. It’s a home to year-round locals and snow-birds, alike. But regardless of who frequents this sandy spot, it’s a fact that you’re going to have a good time.
In an effort to bring awareness to this long-time sport, a group of local sailors have banded together to create a website at www.TreasureCoastWindsurfing.com. Here you will find the best places to sail, learn a few new tricks, and get to know the locals.
