The search can take a while, but once you find your dream home the thrill is exhilerating. At least, that’s how the story went for Eric and Sarah from Maine.

The couple was looking to escape the cold winters and find a sunny, South Florida home in Stuart. Sailors by nature, they knew they wanted to be close to the water and it took them two flights down and days of touring until they found the pefect match.

Nestled near Snug Harbor on St Lucie Blvd, they found a half of a duplex with a deeded boat slip – bingo! Only about 5 houses from the water, they didn’t care that the home would need a little remodeling, all they wanted was the salty breeze in their hair.

The kicker? They snagged this estate sale for only $125,000!
As first time home buyers they will also be taking advantage of the 2009 $8,000 tax credit so let the remodeling begin!

Stuart Causeway has been a favorite for local sailors for years. It’s a home to year-round locals and snow-birds, alike. But regardless of who frequents this sandy spot, it’s a fact that you’re going to have a good time.

In an effort to bring awareness to this long-time sport, a group of local sailors have banded together to create a website at www.TreasureCoastWindsurfing.com. Here you will find the best places to sail, learn a few new tricks, and get to know the locals.
